Leona Long is soley repsonsible for the campaign that won the 2019 Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvill Award of Excellence, the industry's most prestigious award.
She learned the ins and outs of placing her clients’ stories into news by working at three LA television stations and at a small public relations agency in Los Angeles. Leona honed her writing skills with one-on-one coaching from a best-selling author and producer/reporter for CNN and Associated Press television. As a lead writer for Long Beach Magazine, she wrote cover stories about Cameron Diaz, Snoop Dogg and Billie Jean King.
As the public information officer for the College of Rural and Community Development, Leona designed and implemented the first strategic communications effort for the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ five rural campuses and Indigenous programs. Her work in rural Alaska was won statewide and national public relations awards.
